Story
Haverfordwest is the county town of beautiful Pembrokeshire - a family holiday destination for its peace and coastline. It used to be a thriving town, a place to meet and do local trade and see neighbours. Now the streets are almost empty, and there is nowhere for visiting or local families to spend time on a rainy day.
We need a welcoming, fun, active spacious centre where people can spend time back in the county town. Making new friends, helping share new ideas for the town, buy the wonderful local produce, and relax while their kids let off steam.
Welcome shelter for the many potential market stallholders in the bad weather where they can really show off their wares. Live entertainment - where the many local musicians & performers can create events for all ages in this brilliant yet wasted town centre location.
Your help will also enable us to provide a big youth-club space close to the excellent skate board park, making this a meeting place for all ages. In short ... somewhere to go in Haverfordwest.
Town centre revival project in a wasting away listed building with huge potential. Join the Haverhub team and help us to make it happen. The whole town, and its struggling independent traders will all benefit from regular increased year round foot fall - and we can become the County Town destination once more. A riverside location, this will create a meeting place for sports and cycling clubs, and we hope to set up a town centre rowing & kayak club to bring life and fun back onto the river that flows through the centre of town.
Quay street itself has a more than colourful history, and we will help local people bring that to life for visitors - on tours, with stories and great humour! This project aims to give everyone a role, and a place to enjoy crafts, clubs, events, local food - whether as a participant, volunteer, Pembrokeshire local or visitor on holiday. Please join us as 'Hub-buddie's - helping our Haverhub team to make this happen this summer!

8 years agoThank you everyone who has started this fundraising going! We really appreciate it. We are in a slightly quiet bit - gathering paperwork together - has to be done - and will start letting you all know about ways to come and see round, or what lively events are planned to get everyone together for a sociable time creating this new heart of town venue. See you soon and big thanks. Please share and every donation counts.

Quay street, Haverfordwest, United Kingdom
It started when Gitti got fed up seeing empty streets and disused fine buildings in the county town. This turned into an idea for a Community hub. .. then The Old Post Office came on the market .. then this group of people had a look around - and formed Haverhub action team!
