Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation Nigeria (OIFN) is a registered charity in Nigeria. ( CAC Reg. Number 95747). We work with and assist people with brittle bone conditions (OI). This condition affects an individual's bones and soft tissue, thereby making their bones very fragile, resulting in constant fractures.

OIFN is raising money for life-changing corrective surgery for seven children diagnosed with the brittle bone condition (OI) in Nigeria. Finding out their kids have this condition without proper knowledge or support from birth has been challenging and devastating for the parents and their families; even though they have hoped their situations will improve with time but didn't as expected; some kids have been abandoned by their fathers leaving their mothers to care for them, some have blamed the mothers, faulting them to be the cause of the kids having such condition and deformity and caused deep emotional pain. In their quest for answers, the mothers have found our foundation, read more about the disease, and reached out to us for help.

Some of these children have been fortunate to have both parents supporting them. Still, the journey has been challenging living in Nigeria, West Africa, with little or no knowledge of these conditions and no adequate support. That is why OIFN has stepped in to support by providing bisphosphonate medication and now fundraising to fly an OI specialist surgeon to help with life-changing corrective surgery and adequate training for medical personnel, collaborating with local hospitals for future treatment.

These kids have suffered many painful fractures in their little life and have deformation on both arms, legs, and other parts of their bodies.
