Story

Update: We can now confirm that following a month spent in Hospital, Nurul has finally been discharged and is now continuing his recovery at home. We thank everyone who made a donation to support Nurul and his family in their time of need, but Nurul's road to full recovery is long. We therefore continue to raise funds here to help support the family until Nurul is able to return to work. We will provide further updates as we receive new information.

Early Sunday morning, November 7 2021, a local Colchester taxi driver, Nurul, was violently assaulted in Ipswich by a passenger he had picked up in Colchester earlier that night. The attacker is now out on bail but Nurul is in the hospital in a coma where he is being treated for severe head injuries. Although there are already small signs of progress, it's going to be a long road to recovery.

Without hyperbole, Nurul is one of the world's nicest guys. People that know him are in shock and saddened. The taxi community in Colchester are heartbroken and outraged. It's also likely a few of them are a little more afraid to go to work.

Known for being the guy that "helps everyone out" and "drops everything to give you a hand" Nurul and his family now need our support. Nurul is the father of three beautiful children, including one beautiful 7 month year old smiley baby. He is also an exceptionally hard worker.

At the moment, we are asking for financial support to help cover the expenses of the family while Nurul isn't working as well as trips back and forth from Colchester to Cambridge where he is in hospital. We also expect that as Nurul's recovery continues there will be additional medical expenses and things that he would benefit from including: surgeries and therapies, rehab sessions, specialist equipment, and home adjustments.

We want to support Nurul and his family so that they can have the best chance at the best recovery. We've based our estimate on what they need from other people on this platform who are trying to raise funds for similar circumstances. We've started high with the expectation that we can try to raise as much as we can for them, even if it is well outside what they feel comfortable asking for themselves. We hope that you will be as generous as we think Nurul is.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

All funds will be transferred directly to Nurul and his wife, M
