Story
In June 2024 we petitioned the government on www.change.org/helpthecarers and petitioned Kier Starmer to halt ny legal proceedings between the Department for Work and Pensions and Carers who had been overpaid carers allowance.
why did we do this?
Over 140,000 people were facing prosecution by the DWP and the Crown Prosecution Service, insisting that those that had been overpaid were knowingly committing fraud. We didnt agree, and neither did the over 50,000 people who signed the petition, but we did it.
On the 14th October, Kier Starmer announced that the legal action would stop pending a review, and since then, we have become a union.
Currently we have over 70 members who are committed to making change happen for unpaid carers, with your support we have raised the capital to apply for recognition by the Central Arbitration Committee.

Every penny you donate goes back into the Union, we are a non profit and anyone who works for the NUCUF, does so voluntarily to help the 5.9m unpaid carers across the UK.

A MASSIVE Thank You to everyone who has donated to the Union so far. We have now been able to make the relevant applications for recognition, but we still need your help. We need to marketing for the Union, advertisement is the best form of marketing but we cant do that without you, the more donations we receive, the more we can advertise and get the word out about us. Please continue to share the link for this fundraiser so we can continue to get the recognition and support that over 5.9m carers across the UK deserve. Thank You

2 months agoWE DID IT.. Thanks to the support and generosity of those who donated, we raised the application fee to apply to the Central Arbitration Committee for recognition of the union. But that's not all we need, getting the word out about us is difficult, without advertising the Union it will be hard to gain more members. We still need your donations to help with our marketing costs, can you help by spreading the word? Thank You

Fantastic what you’ve achieved already! Keep up the good work. Government needs to address the issue of children who are carers too. They miss out on so much, education, leisure etc
