Northwood Primary School is located in the London Borough of Bexley and is a small, one-form entry primary school. Northwood has a vision to "empower every child to achieve their full potential in a happy and supportive environment that fosters the skills for lifelong learning".

The teachers and staff of the school believe in this vision and work tirelessly to ensure these standards are reached. This is evident from the fact that the school has risen from being ranked 36th in Bexley three years ago to 6th last year.

However, the school is based in an area of social deprivation. This means that they need more resources to achieve their vision. With budgets constantly under pressure, this is not always possible without extra support.

My name is Gajendra Gupta and I am proud to serve as a member of the Governing Body of Northwood Primary School. On 24th September 2016 I will be taking part in my first ever triathlon. As part of the event I have chosen to raise funds for Northwood Primary School. The teachers, staff and students of Northwood have been my motivation to keep pushing on this journey of couch-to-triathlon in a year!

I believe in their vision, the effort they are putting in to achieve it, and I know how far even a small contribution can go to securing an improved learning environment which will enable the children to achieve even greater success.

I am dedicating my triathlon to this amazing school and urge you to do your part. Remember, every small contribution makes a difference!
