Story
UPDATE 22 DECEMBER 017: We would just like to say the sincerest thanks to all of you who have made a contribution to our appeal. All the Donations, big and small, are deeply appreciated and we have been touched by the ammount of support there is out there for what we do in trying to stop the sickening and depraved cruelty that is inflicted on our wildlife.
With your support through this just giving appeal, coupled with a grant from the central Hunt Saboteurs Association and some other contributions from friends, supporters and well wishers, we are pleased to announce that we have enough funds now to buy a new land rover.
We have a beautiful vehicle in mind, purchased with an interest in its longevity, which will be fitted with all the technilogical gizmos we use. A full report on the purchase of this vehicle will follow, but in the meantime you can keep up to date with some of our work through the following links.
A merry Christmas to all and peace and justice on earth for all creatures, regardless of species.

In safe hands
North Downs Hunt Saboteurs are a proactive wildlife defence group committed to taking non-violent direct action in defence of wildlife. We have been in existence for over thirty years and are active both at weekends and during the week to prevent the persecution of the defenceless. Our main interest is stopping illegal fox hunting (euphemistically called ‘trail’ hunting) in the Surrey, Kent and Sussex areas, but our members are also involved in disrupting the badger cull as well as intervening in the illegal slaughter of migratory birds in the Mediterranean.
In recent years we have been extremely successful with our work. Not only do we prevent the hunts from terrorising and murdering animals on a week in, week out basis, but last year we also successful in:
-- Getting a criminal investigation into the Old Surrey & Burstow ‘trail’ hunt after recovering the body of a fox they murdered on 3rd December.
-- Organised a picket of their hunt ball which saw over 60 activists attend. Both the event’s sponsor and band rescinded their involvement and pressure was put on the hotel not to host the event in future.
-- Gaining national publicity of minor royal Lulu Hutley of the Surrey Union ‘trail’ hunt striking a sab with her whip.
Currently, we are operating one land-rover which we fill every week with activists. Now we have a growing pool of keen and eager new recruits to join us in our vital work, but not enough transportation to get them to actions. Please consider giving us a donation, no matter how small, to enable us to purchase a second vehicle. We appreciate that we are asking for a lot of money, but in our experience it pays to spend more on a decent vehicle and save with future repair and maintenance costs. With a second land-rover we can target more hunts and support more activists in defence of the animals, ultimately saving more lives!

7 years agoThe greatest of thanks to all those that have already donated or considered donated. We have hit one fifth of our target and we truely appreciate your support. Please keep sharing the appeal on your social media accounts. It has already been a lively season for us, and it has only just started! We have successfully disrupted two opening meets - that of the Surrey Union and the Crawley & Horsham. In both cases the hunts were hunting openingly, desperate to kill on their prestigious day - but our prescence ensure no wildlife was harmed.
