- Funded on Sunday, 26th July 2020

Story
With vunerable people self-isolating at the moment due to Covid-19, we are fundraising to buy supplies for the new free soup kitchen that will deliver to North and West Belfast. This is a version of the Framewerk Soup Kitchen which has been operating since the 23rd of March.
We will use this money to pay for containers, stock, sanitary provisions and to supplement petrol costs for delivery drivers.
The pre-packaged soups will be delivered to the doorsteps of anyone who messages the page for them until they run out each day. Any excess will be donated to shelters and other groups in need.
We hope to begin production on Monday 30th March.

5 years agoHey everyone, we are constantly evaluating the levels of need in the areas we cover, and expect that this service will continue to be necessary. We have no intention of stopping any time soon, and with the school term ending we expect that families who rely on school meals could need our services (and others) even more. We have all seen the news stories. Because of this, we are hoping to raise an extra £2000 to keep us going until the end of July so we can keep providing for our community. Thank you SO much for all of your continued support

5 years agoWe are now serving 200 people and have 8 drivers a day heading out to make sure a nourishing soup makes its way to the doorstep of our elderly, disabled, and immunocompromised neighbours, as well as single parents, refugee, asylum seeking and migrant families, and anyone else who cannot leave the house or afford feed themselves at this time. Your generosity means we can continue to run for the next three weeks at least, and I will be raising the target to £4000 in order to keep running even longer! Lots of love and solidarity to you all.

5 years agoThank you so much everyone for all your support! We reached our initial target of £500 (for 1-2 weeks supplies) so quickly thanks to your incredible generosity! We will now continue to fundraise for additional weeks and to feed more people. We would love to be able to use our increased funds to help a group set up the same thing we have done to support people in West Belfast better as we are mostly covering North Belfast. We have developed resources that are easily shared, so please get in touch if you are a group looking to do similar.
