Nigel was a true inspiration to hundreds (maybe thousands) of people, famously through his 30+ years as musical director of Lions Youth Brass. He was a talented musician, teacher and conductor; but more importantly he was kind, a motivator and instilled excellent values in young people.

I met Nigel in 1997, and since then he has been a constant inspiration to me, a big part of the reason I have fulfilled my dreams in music. In September 2022 he was diagnosed with cancer, and in January 2023 he was taken away far too soon. By running Manchester Marathon on 16th April 2023 in his memory, I hope to raise money for 2 of his big passions - Lions Youth Brass and Sandbach Park Bowling Club.
