Story
Who doesnt love the sea when you live on an Island of 9 Miles by 5 Miles? Jersey is the host to many a swim round the Island! This one is different, the first ever attempt, we are a relay team of 6 ladies (all middle aged) who are going to swim around the Island twice in a day! This is a huge Challenge for us all, we will be in the water for an hour at a time and we will be swimming for 20-24 hours non stop. The sea temp has not risen as it normally does this year, so we predict the temparature to be around 16 degrees! We will be raising money for Healing Waves-Ocean Therapy who give assistance to disabled people, allow them to have the experience of the sea in a controlled safe manner and give them as much pleasure as we get from swimming in the sea!

3 years agoTeam “Horizontal and Smiling” Unfortunately our slot for “Twice round Jersey” relay swim came and got blown out! But that has not dampened our spirits at all, we have been given the tide 28th June to 2nd July 2022 and aside from the weather, this WILL happen! The plan is to practice and continue training, to do a Jersey 🇯🇪 to France 🇫🇷 on the August 30th this year When you are a swimmer, you expect the unexpected, you don’t guarantee your swim till you’ve swum! But as a team, you remain positive, support each other and continue to train.

3 years agoToday we decided to do a fun swim, but still remembering we need to keep the training up, so we are fit enough for Jersey 🇯🇪 to France 🇫🇷 Next month! So we swam for 1km in Bonne Nuit!

3 years agoSo due to our news of not swimming on this tide, we decided to take a night off and go for dinner at Vittoria’s! It was such a lovely evening all together! Back to training for our next adventure! 🥰
