Story
Kimbolton St. James’ is a small primary school at the centre of its community. We welcome 85 children from the ages of 4 – 11 each day along with around 15 nursery aged children. Our school is small in proportion but we have the highest aspirations for our children however, we have had one major problem for the last 20 years and that is the lack of a school hall. This means that all of our assemblies, school plays and PE sessions have to take place in classrooms. We are able to use our village hall but this is a good walk away along a busy main road, with a single file path which is too dangerous to take young children along, especially in the potato harvesting season. It also means we have trouble serving hot lunches and many children have to eat sitting at their desks.
Our school has been saving for many years so that we can contribute towards the building of a new hall. We have so far raised £80,000. Our local diocese have promised us £115,000 but this still leaves us £15,000. We are hoping that this is where you can help! In short, we are asking people to contribute to the building of our new hall, it will transform the lives of children in the school and help to keep our rural community vibrant and active.
