For the last 3 years, NEPOMAK UK has successfully run our annual Santa Shoe Box campaign. Delivering gifts to vulnerable and impoverished children in Cyprus and to the schoolchildren enclaved in Rizokarpasso.

Due to the international crisis caused by COVID-19, we are unable to run the Santa Shoe Box campaign this year. However, vulnerable children in Cyprus need our help now, more than ever before.

This year, NEPOMAK UK is running a range of diverse events online to raise funds which we will donate directly to charities supporting children in Cyprus.

This year, we will be working with:

Caritas Cyprus (Cyprus charity number 517) – who currently support approximately 700 children (under the age of 18) and assited more than 3,200 families so far this year.

Help Rizokarpasso (UK charity number 273005) – who support the schoolchildren enclaved in Rizokarpasso, living under occupation in the northern part of Cyprus.

We are pleased to announce we have reached our donation target of £2,000 on our Just Giving Page for our Christmas Charity Campaign. This will go directly to the charities Help Rizokarpasso and Caritas Cyprus (inc. Just Giving administrative fee).

UPDATE - TARGET REACHED AND DONEES ADDED

We are overwhelmed with gratitude towards our community in helping us reach our target of £2,000 with still 4 weeks remaining of the campaign.

Given the privileged position we are in, we are adding further donees to our fundraising so that surplus money raised beyond our target, (£2,000 onwards), be directed to help the Educational Institutions which consist of Greek schools, who, year on year, play a crucial role in making our Santa Shoebox Initiative possible.

Given the financial struggle expressed by the institutions due to COVID-19, and the cancellation of their usual fundraising activities and the strain this has had on the community, this is a great way to support them when they need it most.

The surplus over £2,000 to be directed to the four UK based Greek School Umbrella Organisations:

a) Central Educational Council (ΚΕΣ)

b) Federation of Educational Societies of Greek Cypriots (ΟΕΣΕΚΑ)

c) Independent Greek Schools in England (ΑΕΣΑ)

d) Independent Greek Schools of London (ΑΕΣΛ)

Help us in spreading some Christmas cheer by making a donation - A small donation will go a long way in making a huge difference to a less fortunate child.
