The Journey began in Cheshire, England. After a 5 day drive and train ride i arrived in a War Zone and delivered animal medicines....

My love of animals has led me on a path which I am humbled to have volunteered and am following. The journey took me in to a War Zone. The strange thing is that the people i met had so much courage that I didn't feel nervous at all and despite the constant air raid sirens and bombs exploding and missiles destroying buildings close by the people just unbelievably get on with life. 4100 km and I reached my destination of Kharkiv in the East of Ukraine close to the Russian border. The city used to have millions of people but since the evacuations the City is eerily empty, only a few shops are open, the streets are empty but for a handful of cars and road blocks are everywhere. I had donated medicine to deliver and the volunteers that were left in the city just appeared like angels. They fed me, drove me around and took care of me for 7 days while I witnessed and researched some ideas to help not just for the short term but for the future. I have a Van and bought it just for this purpose to take Aid to the affected areas.

The underground subway still operates and people are living down there for shelter. All the hotels are closed and the city has been devastated with blasts. however the people carry on. I visited 3 Vets clinics, 5 horse stables , 4 Animal sanctuaries and multiple Dog and Cat lovers who go into the empty city suburbs to feed the hundreds of animals that became strays when the people fled, with donations from European countries.

The stories you listen to of the evacuations and the harrowing tales of the combat on their doorstep is hard to believe in the world that we currently live in. The animals are visibly scared and if you are an animal person you can see the distress that they have been subjected to. The animal sanctuaries have recovered a huge amount of animals roaming the suburbs and are gathering them to places of rescue. They can only do this with the help from donations and praying to God for a mild winter. I took over 500 photos and videos but cant share them all here and listened to more stories than could be written.

Thank you for your kind concerns and donations. I intend to travel again to Ukraine every 4 weeks. We will put together a long term future with my new found friends and you will see that the animals are treated with love and are fed and will get through the winter months working together with solutions

here is my new friend, 6 months old Boomer, he is a donkey and was rescued from the fields around Kharkiv that were bombed , he was the only one that got out....

and lets not forget the lady with over 40 dogs, that was a party if ever i saw one, a joy to see so many dogs taken off the street and sheltered and fed. The Vet visited here and neutered and treated them with aid medicine donations, operating in a dangerous environments makes it even harder and should be noted , Thank you Vets for sticking around.
