Dear brothers and sisters,

I am raising money for a water well in Yemen on behalf of my late mother Sunaban Bibi who passed away 2 and a half months ago. My mum's death was very sudden as she died in a tragic accident at home which sadly proved to be fatal. It was a big shock to the whole family. May Allah have mercy on her and grant her Jannah. As I'm her only child it is my responsibility to carry on with Sadaqah Jariyah( continuous/ ongoing charity) on her behalf so she can continue to reap the rewards in the grave.

I have chosen Yemen because it currently has the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. The civil war has displaced 3.3 million people and 3.2 million are requiring for acute malnutrition. Clean water is something we take for granted in the developed world. It is essential for survival. Contaminated water causes water borne diseases such as cholera to spread and this is highly prevalent in Yemen. Poor sanitation and water born diseases left hundred of thousands ill last year. 17.8 million people lack access to clean water and sanitation in Yemen. Therefore, the purpose of this water well is to provide a sustainable source of clean water in order to improve the quality of life for the community.
