Story
We are villagers of Shawell, Leicestershire and we are campaigning to help restore green land local to the village. it not only benefits us but so many residents of South Leicestershire.
It's time to draw a line in the sand. Please help us to hold the local council to account to ensure they do not do a U turn on long standing plans to re-wild the local quarry site.
We have waited almost 60 years for quarrying to cease and for this land to be returned to green fields. We are petitioning for the site to become a publicly accessible park and nature reserve. Not only does this protect the land for future generations but it will also prevent further planning applications.
It's vital to ensure that this green land is not lost forever.
