Story

Nathan is a 14 year old boy from Muirhead who attends Redburn School in Cumbernauld for children with complex needs. He has Autism Spectrum Disorder and was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at 6 years old. DMD affects approximately 1 in 3500 male births and causes muscle wastage leaving Nathan wheelchair bound. There is no cure for DMD and the condition will get progressively worse over time. The life expectancy is under 30 years of age.

All Nathan's family want is to make his life the best it can be by providing renovations and equipment to make living with this condition more comfortable as well as providing opportunities to create the most amazing memories which they can cherish.

On Saturday 3rd September, Pipe Band Aid (pipebandaid.com) are raising money to help Nathan's family buy an adapted wheelchair by climbing Ben Nevis complete with their Bagpipes and Drums to play a couple of tunes at the Summit. Nathan's family would appreciate your donation, thank you so much.
