On the 3rd of June 2017, Liam was on his way to celebrate the ending of exams by attending Summer ball, like every other student he didn't have a care in the world, and couldn't be more excited to spend the day with his mates one last time.

But on the way to the event he was in some serious discomfort, with pains in his lower back and legs. Then when it came to the getting off the bus, he couldn't move his legs. There was a serious problem at hand and thanks to the quick thinking of the emergencies services that attended to him, they managed to get him out of the bus by cutting a hole in the roof in order to evacuate him and get him to the necessary medical facilities.

After a number of hours of being examined and transported he finally managed to reach the right hospital with the necessary services to attend to his every need. At this point multiple tests had been carried out to determine the cause for his paralysis, but to no avail. All we know at this moment is that he is paralysed from the waist down, and that doctors are doing everything humanly possible to get Liam back to his regular self.

For those of you that are lucky enough to know Liam will know he that he is the most genuine person you have ever met. He is funny, compassionate, loving and a true friend that will have you back no matter what! This man is proud and it is the most distressing image seeing him in the position that he is in, no one ever deserves to be in this situation, especially Liam.

He is an influential member of Bournemouth University's Rugby Football Club, as a club and a community we have the responsibility to offer support in every way possible. We are not saying that it is all doom and gloom there is hope and he is positive, but for progress we need to support him and his family, financially and emotionally. Thus we have set up this fund to ensure he is with his family during this terrible time, and that he receives the best treatment possible.
