I've raised £250 to Raise money for Flourish Sheffield and The Loop

Music For The Mind : A night of music provided by local Sheffield based talent. 100% of money raised on the night and through this page will be split 50/50 between The Loop and Sheffield Flourish.
We are raising money for The Loop, a drug testing and safety charity. A big problem within the electronic and dance music scene is the association with drugs. It is, unfortunately, very rife at almost any event and night out. This consequently leads to people taking either very potent drugs or more commonly, drugs which have been mis-sold. This is why The Loop is so important, they offer free drug testing with no legal repercussions, to find out what's actually in the drugs people are testing, so they can alert other takers of dangerous batches etc. They also have staff trained in drug related harm to further improve safety. They are a charity, therefore, they need as much funding as possible to continue the brilliant work they do at events and festivals. I unfortunately lost my best friend, Max, to an accidental overdose. He had the purest soul and he was best friend, brother, son, boyfriend and so much more. I would do anything to bring him back, so I understand just how important The Loop is to reduce the amount of people who have to experience this.
Sheffield Flourish are a community based mental health charity. They support the talents and skills of people to build the lives they want. They support many different services such as platforms for people to share their own stories about struggling with mental health. As well as, other websites such as the Sheffield Suicide Support and the Sheffield Mental health Guide. They also support enterprises such as football teams, creative groups, theatre and film groups, music production groups and much more. Their hands on, community led, approach to dealing with mental illness is nothing short of amazing and gives a real life line to those who suffer. In short, they are a phenomenal charity who are solely run by the community, therefore donations are key to keeping this amazing charity going. I have my own mental health struggles and know how important it is to talk about how you're feeling, so spaces such as the platforms to share these experiences are so important.
