Murph is a ten-month old Springer Spaniel who loves everyone and everything. A normal day in Murph's world consists of waking up at 7.30am, nuzzling her nose into my face to gently remind me it's time for breakfast. After breakfast it's time for a walk over Cannock Chase, where not a single muddy puddle is safe from her nose-dive into it.

She's usually pretty pooped after this so me and my wife can normally get an hours work in... but then it's definitely play time. She has every imaginable toy but favours a 3D orange rubber one I've named the 'Tesseract' (good girl!!).

About two months ago, she stopped jumping out of the car when we got home. I've had to lift her out. Her back left leg has been very stiff, causing her some pain. Despite numerous visits to the physiotherapist and daily painkillers, she's now in a state of constant wariness and obvious pain, particularly after walks.

We take her out on a very short 15-minute walks on her leash but she's been used to going out for up to an hour, free to run around.

Today (9th Nov 2017) Murph has been for an x-ray to determine once and for all what the problem is. Sadly, she's suffering from quite serious hip dysplasia and is already showing signs of arthritis because of it. The only life-long solution is for her to have surgery on both hind legs, but the bill for this is fear-inducing.

I'm aiming to raise £4500 which will help to cover the cost of surgery for both legs. Anything raised over the cost of her surgery bill will be split between two charities that I support: English Springer Spaniel Welfare and A Better Life Dog Rescue, off whom we have recently adopted our second dog 'Eddie' - a rescue from Romania.
