Iʼve raised £1,699 to Help a biker stranded in London
- London, United Kingdom
- Funded on Sunday, 18th March 2018
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
Jungmoon Yoo is a Korean who has ridden his motorcycle over 12,500 miles through over 13 countries, only to have it stolen DAYS after he arrived in London.
I am so desperate... that motorcycle is all for me... I need help from London bikers and people...
Jungmoon's insurance does not cover the theft of his bike, as is the case with many policies providing international cover.
Riding through Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Czech Republik, Switzerland, Italy, France, and finally England, Jungmoon took on an incredible journey alone. With no vehicle to complete the second leg of his journey, he is currently stranded in London.
Jungmoon has been searching online and spreading the word about his bike however there has been no news - so I've started this page in the hope we can find him a new bike and get him back on his journey. The target is set at £5,000 as a reasonable amount to replace the Yamaha MT07 that was stolen. If 5000 fellow bikers can donate just £1, we'd make it in no time.
If you see the bike, you should report immediately to 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress. The crime reference is 1232129/17
Ideally we will be able to find this bike and return it to Rok - money raised with donations is only a Plan B, for if the bike is not recovered.
Jungmoon has travelled around the world only to arrive in London and instantly be a victim of a crime. Hopefully we can show him that London has more good people than bad.

7 years ago6 days to go until donations will be closed! At the moment we have £1,619 which is incredible, but getting a road legal motorcycle from London to Korea will be difficult on that budget. Hopefully we can go for one last push and get closer to the target! I met Jungmoon again last week where we visited Slocombes Motorcycles in North London. Billy & Liam there gave us some great advice regarding finding a bike, and the paperwork that will be involved. I'm confident we can push for these final 6 days, and get Jungmoon back on the road! Thank you.

7 years agoI met up with Jungmoon on Wednesday for the first time to discuss his story more, and plan his trip home. He is obviously disappointed that his bike has not been found, but he's confident he'll finish the rest of his trip on a bike, not a plane! He showed me videos from his trip including the Pacific highway in Norway, and the moment that a wheel broke from an oncoming truck in Russia. The wheel narrowly missed him, but he was injured by a flying bolt. He got right back on his bike! Please keep sharing and I'm sure we can reach the target!

7 years agoWe are at 25% with 164 Shares, 4,000 views, and 124 Donations! Jungmoon's bike has not been found yet, so we are still hoping to get to the full total of £5,000 in order to replace it. We made it up to 25% in just a few days, so hopefully if we keep sharing, spreading the word, and making small donations...We can reach the target before Christmas! Thanks everyone who has shared & donated. It's good to see that although one person can have a negative impact...hundreds of us have come together to have a bigger, positive impact.

Currently living in London, I've been the victim of motorcycle theft myself. I know the impact it can have, however I was lucky enough to find my bike and have it returned. between 2016 and 2017, over 15,000 motorcycles were stolen in London, that is over 41 bikes, every day.
