Story

Our Mum, Hilary Wilson, worked at numerous infant schools, during her lifelong career as a teacher, but the school she spent most time at, and the school that we, her children, also attended, was Oaklands Infants School, from the late 70s to the 90s.

Mum’s greatest legacy, beyond the family of children and grandchildren she nurtured, was the amazing start she gave to so many children in the Old Moulsham community as their reception year teacher. We would like to commemorate that legacy by raising funds for new resources for the school. We have met with the deputy head at Oaklands and agreed on a number of ideas to enhance an area at the front of the school, including the purchase of a tree that blossoms, which will suport the curriculum in terms of teaching the seasons. .

Anyone who would otherwise have bought flowers for Mum’s funeral are kindly invited to donate to this fundraiser instead, so we can give back to the community in a more tangible and long lasting way, as she would have wanted.
