Iʼve raised £530 to help fund the Leeds Cat Rescue trapping and neutering programme.

    Story

I want to help fund an expansion of the trapping and neutering programme at Leeds Cat Rescue. My £400 target will allow 10 extra cats to be neutered, reducing the potential feral cat population in 16 months time by 360!

I'm running the York Cat Trail each day during "Lockdown 2" in my "Big Cat" Morphsuit. The distance (2km per day) isn't the problem, but seeing where I'm going is, especially when my specs start steaming up!

Please donate if you can. Leeds Cat Rescue aren't set up on the major Donation platforms, hence this crowdfunding page. 100% of donation amounts received from JustGiving will be passed on to Leeds Cat Rescue.

The biggest problem faced by Cat Rescues is that there is an endless number of cats needing help. The most humane and effective way of controlling populations of feral or unowned cats is through an effective neutering programme. I want to help Leeds Cat Rescue to expand their trapping and neutering programme. My £400 target represents the cost of neutering 10 extra cats. If this can happen then it will prevent 360 feral kittens entering the world over the next 16 months. See the chart below (courtesy of petcare.com.au) to see how quickly a pair of feral cats can multiply in a short space of time.

I'm actually quite enjoying my daily morphsuit runs around York. I tend to go early in the morning when it's a bit quieter. It's nice to wave at people and see them waving back with a look on their face that says they haven't quite worked out what they are waving at and why! My last day will be Tuesday 1st December, at which point I will have run in excess of a marathon. Thank you very much for your support.

Not far to go now. I bet you're glad of the arms and legs on the morph suit at the moment.

Thanks so much for all your news and photos are so welcome. Here in the north of Alsace, a morph suit would be most welcome, -4°C this morning! Bravo, Peter, and keep up the good work!
