I've raised £250 to help parents going through miscarriage by providing hygiene packages and memory boxes.

Morgan's Wings - Supporting parents going through miscarriage
Following a miscarriage in 2019, Geoff and Jude recognised a gap in care and immediate support.
Baby Morgan was born sleeping at 12 weeks gestation. We had taken nothing to our appointment as we thought it was just a scan. The hospital kept me in that night but we didn’t have a toothbrush or anything to wash with.
When we left hospital we had nothing to recognise the fact that we had had a baby who had died. It’s my strong belief that a loss is still a loss regardless of gestation. Whilst I can’t fault the way the hospital handled my physical needs I don’t think they have the time and resources to follow up on emotional support. At a follow up appointment that was instigated by us we were given the number of the bereavement nurse who was on hand to talk about the funeral process. We asked her about emotional support and she gave us the name of a charity that offer support but they had a waiting list of 4 months.
It is our aim to provide parents in local hospitals who are going through miscarriage with an emergency hygiene care package. We also aim to provide remembrance boxes to remember our babies who gained their angel wings.
We plan to offer continuous support in the form of a befriending service, support groups and sessions to help with the bereavement process, self esteem and more.
