Story

Hi guys, it's Molly!

So as a joke, I applied to the ballot for the Great North Run 2025. Clearly the universe needed a laugh because I managed to get a spot on my first try. Therefore, on the 7th September 2025 I'll be running my first ever Great North Run! My legs are not prepared.

Although technically I don't need to raise any money, I want to raise as much as I can for a wonderful local animal rescue centre called Lucie's Animal Rescue. Lucie, alongside her lovely young family, take in all sorts of species from dogs to cats to lambs to guinea pigs who are in need of rehabilitation and re-homing. They quite often come to her home in a very sad state and Lucie, with all the love and patience in the world, brings them back to health and happiness. Most recently she took in a big puppy called Bruce who had a massive hernia which had rearranged most of his internal organs. She took the risk to operate on him, whilst raising the money to do so at the same time and thankfully it paid off. Now Bruce is running around like the healthy puppy he always should have been!

I will attach the link to Lucie's Facebook page so that you can have a scroll and look at all the amazing work she has done over the years!

On a more personal note, myself and my family very sadly lost our 11 year old cockerpoo Elsie on the 25th February of this year. We found out she had terminal cancer only 3 weeks before she crossed the rainbow bridge and she has left a massive hole in our lives. She was the most special little girl who we never expected to lose so soon. But we know she'll be watching over us and her little sister Pippa whilst chasing rabbits, carrying sticks that are way too big for her and singing along to the Tipping Point theme tune (she liked a good howl to it).

So raising lots of money for other animals who are in need of a warm home in memory of our sweet girl Elsie will bring a bit of joy during a tough time for me and my family.

Thank you for reading and please donate any small amount if you can. If you're not able then just sharing my page with friends and family would be perfect!
