Warrington Athletics Club holds a very special place in my family's heart. In October 2017, the worst thing that you could ever possibly imagine happened to our family. I lost my best friend, my soul mate, my cousin, Dan in a tragic accident. Dan and I were members of Warrington Athletics Club from a young age, and competed in many competitions across the UK together. Dan found a passion for cross country during primary school and competed in the Walton Garden races, he won the overall trophy the first year he competed. He went on to represent England, the North West, Cheshire, Cheshire Schools and Warrington Athletics Club. In 2013, Dan was the Cheshire cross country champion, the Northern XC champion, the National XC champion and the UK Intercounties Champion, not to mention the numerous gold Cheshire track medals he also won, for 800M and 1500M, track relays, road relays and XC relays - he loved the team events. So in memory of my gorgeous cousin I will be taking part in Total Warrior 12K in Leeds this June to raise as much money as possible to give something back to Warrington Athletics Club. No matter how small or big the donation, every penny counts towards fundraising in Dan's memory xxxx
