My name is Kelly and I'm a 38-year-old from South Wales, UK. I have complex health issues which, amongst other things, include; Marfan Syndrome, fibromyalgia, and untreatable PCOS. The combination of these conditions means that I am in constant pain and struggle to do everyday things that most people take for granted. I can't walk more than 30m, and as you can imagine, this puts huge limitations on my life. My social life has become non-existent and I am reliant on other people to do a lot for me. I hate this and would love to gain some independence back.

Although I am disabled, unfortunately, the NHS are extremely strict in my area, which means that I do not qualify for a power wheelchair or scooter. I do have a manual wheelchair, but as I am unable to self-propel I have to rely on other people to push me, which isn't always possible or practical.

In order to get a portion of my life back, I need a power chair, but the cost is so high that I am unable to fund it myself. This is where I must swallow my pride and ask for help. There are specific things I require from my chair (such as a high-backed seat with enough lumbar support for my tall frame, a good amount of leg room etc) that aren't available on the cheaper options.The kind of appliance that I require can cost anywhere up to £5000, and I am saving as much as I can to put towards it myself, but I fall short - very, very short.

If I am lucky enough to reach my target the money will be used to buy the perfect appliance and accessories so that I can get out again, take my dog for walks, do my own shopping and maybe even get something of a social life back.
