Story
Help Keep Muirhouse Millennium Centre Open!
For the past seven years, the Muirhouse Millennium Centre has been a vital lifeline for our community providing warmth, food, emotional support, and a safe space for families, children, and the elderly. Now, we urgently need your help to ensure that this beacon of hope remains open for another year and beyond.
Our Challenge
We must raise £25,000 by summer 2026 to cover our running costs and carry out essential repairs on the building. This funding will give us the critical time we need to secure long-term financial support. Despite ongoing discussions with the Council and being part of the Community Centre Strategy, there is currently no guaranteed funding to keep our doors open.
Why It Matters
The Centre is more than just a building its a community hub where people find support, comfort, and connection during difficult times. Our Founder and Centre Manager, Pauline Nicol-Bowie, was awarded an MBE this year for her tireless dedication to our community. Yet, even her passion and leadership can’t bridge this funding gap on its own.
How You Can Help
We are calling on you to make a difference. Here is how you can support us:
Monetary Donations: Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our goal.
In-Kind Contributions: We also welcome raffle prizes, building materials, or any resources that can help with essential repairs.
Spread the Word: Please share our campaign with friends, family, and colleagues. Awareness is key to reaching our goal.
Your generosity will ensure that the Muirhouse Millennium Centre continues to be a safe, welcoming space for everyone in our community. Together, we can keep the heart of our neighbourhood beating strong.
