During summer 2017 (July-Aug) I will be undertaking a month long volunteering project with the charity Archelon in Greece. The aim of the charity is the conservation of loggerhead sea turtles and protect new born hatchlings across various locations, as well as educating tourists and local populaces, and generally raising awareness of how we are impacting their species.

Since 1978, these turtles have been on the threatened species list with persisting reductions to their numbers, where now only 1 in 1000 turtles make it to full adulthood and we are on a mission to improve this number!

As part of my fundraising, I will be taking part in a sponsored abseil down the side of the Leeds Beckett Portland building, situated in Leeds city centre.

All sponsorship money and donations raised will go into the trip to Greece and the charity itself so that they will be able to support future projects and continue the good work which they do.
