Following on from our mission trip to Macedonia one of the needs we came across was for building work to convert an existing build into a church with a flat above for the pastor. Our friends in Kavadarci (Macedonia) meet in a tiny rented building.
Members of this small congregation save what little they can but poverty is a real issue in Macedonia with some Church members only being able to afford 1 euro a week towards the cost . Our plan is to raise the £5000 for this project and help them to accommodate the increase in people in the church and free up their money for important projects within their community.
On Saturday the 26th August Jason, Hellen, Zane and their friend Emma will start a 75 mile walk, over 5 days, following the Pilgrims Way. Starting at Southwark Cathedral in London and ending at Canterbury Cathedral.
We have funded all the accommodation ourselves so we hope you can support us and make this happen.
You may be hesitant to support a religious cause but I would like to just say this, what we are doing is supporting an organisation that has and continues to react to the needs of the poorer communities in Macedonia. The Church in Kavadarci is just one such example. The head Pastor, Jimmy, is one of the most generous and humble men I have met. These churches are not full of the pomp and ceremony that, perhaps, we sometimes associate with Church. Nor are the buildings adorned with finery and expensive stained glass windows, but what I have found is people who are so loving, so giving, so genuine and often despite their own lack actively give to the communities they live in.
This is why we are doing this walk, as Mission Macedonia we know that every penny will be spent on this project.

Good news! we now have Charitable Trust status but have not set up gift aid yet, our number is 1174265 and is now available to view on the Charity Commissions website
