Story
For those that don't know my story , 12.2.21 we Lost Mick ( my partner) when he took his own life. For me I had met my soul mate , but unfortunately we only had 17 months together, but they were enough to fill me with a lifetime of memories and adventures walking the mountains of england & Wales.
Mick was an Army vetran and suffered with his mental health, this is one of the reasons I have chosen the SSAFA for a charity to support as well as the Brecon Mountain Rescue teams who keep us safe when we all walk in that area.
June 18th we would have been celebrating Mick's 50th Birthday , so to mark the occasion I decided to paint one of his favourite paths The Storey Arms in Brecon , where he trained as a young man in the army .
Very shortly after we lost him I went up to see the sunset , something that we had always planned to do together, I took a photo of the pathway and with his ridge on the right hand side where his stones are , I felt this was the view I wanted to paint in his memory , and this is how the name " The sunset we never had " came about.
Usually I put the original in a draw to win, but creating this has been such an emotional journey, I have decided I will be exhibiting it ( if i can) for others to enjoy.
So I will be putting TWO framed limited edition copies in a Draw to WIN and two people will be picked at random . OnJanuary 1st 2025
The proceeds will be split between the SSAFA supporting families & vetrans from all the forces and also Brecon Mountain rescue team who do amazing work keeping walkers safe on the mountains. 10% will be kept for a future painting to create again .
ALL prints sold a £5.00 donation will be given to the charities.
Donate £ 2.50 and you will be entered with a chance to WIN , £5.00 two chances etc..
please E-Mail lausy8@hotmail.com Reference The sunset we never had , with you name amount and contact details , I will then send you your ticket number.
Thank you so much for taking time to read this and also support the charities & also please pass on and share also ..

4 months agoA Massive THANK YOU to SSAFA for such a lovely write up . Hopefully this will encourage people to donate, support & buy tickets . It really does make such a lot when the actual charities your supporting support you ,SSAFA are always there to help, another reason I chose it too, they do amazing work to support families /vetrans from all genres of the armed forces. Until you know someone or have been in the armed forces its very hard to know what they go through, knowing what Mick went through its so important to have somewhere for support.
