My only son, Arran, died tragically last June aged just 27. He left two beautiful children behind, Liam who is now 9, and Koraleigh who is 5. The hospital Arran died in gave the children a memory box each, donated through another charity, and these were invaluable to the children, being a great vehicle to encourage them to talk about Arran in a positive way whilst keeping some of their daddy's favourite things in the box. Each box donated contains 2 teddy bears (1 to leave with the parent and 1 for the child to keep), a notelet, a candle, a cardboard photo frame and a balloon and both children have lovingly helped to create these.

Our local hospital does not currently offer this as a service so our family and friends raised £2000 to fund 100 of these boxes and I want to raise a little more to keep this going and be able to help our more families who find themselves in a similar tragic situation. KGH have got the first 10 already and were delighted to be able to add these into their end of life care program.

You never think anything like this will happen to you - but it happened to us! We have struggled to cope but wanted to help other families as much as we can and these really do help!! xx
