Story

Hi, my son Oscar is running the Junior Great North Run and I am running The Great North Run in memory of our uncle/ brother-in-law, Russell Mills, who tragically passed away at only 32 years old last year, due to a heart complication. Russell was a big part of so many people’s lives and he is very missed by all that he has left behind. Unfortunately, I could only get a charity place and Marfan Trust is too small of a charity to register. So, I am running for The British Heart Foundation and will be splitting the money I raise with Marfan Trust.

The British Heart Foundation is a cardiovascular research charity in the United Kingdom. It funds medical research related to heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors, and runs influencing work aimed at shaping public policy and raising awareness.

The only Marfan charity in the UK, the Marfan Trust undertakes medical research into Marfan syndrome, supports those with the condition and raises much needed awareness.

We are very grateful for anything you can spare to sponsor us.

Thanks.
