Story

Retirement Collection for Dr Stephen Nelson

Dr Nelson has given 40 years of service to the NHS as a medical student, registrar and consultant. As a renal physician he has helped thousands of people with renal problems face the challenges that a chronic disease or injury causes. During more than 25 years at St George's has was a consultant nephrologist, the renal unit care leader for 8 years and the Clinical Director in renal medicine and surgery, clinical haematology, oncology and palliative care for 11 years.

If you have been a patient (or a patient relative) of his, you will know how much time and care he has provided to his patients. Always giving them time to voice their worries and concerns. Extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful, Dr Nelson dealt with medical challenges with a patient, calm and confident manner.

He will be missed by many. If you knew him, please contribute to his retirement gift.
