I've raised £2030 to create new opportunities for young people who are missing out on science competitions/events due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With the outbreak of coronavirus/COVID-19, and the resulting cancellation of events/mass gatherings, young people who were due to compete in STEM competitions, events and science fairs around the world will be missing out on the opportunity to share their projects with their peers and the wider community. For a lot of young people, these events will be the highlight of their year, and the culmination of many hours of work.
I know first hand the HUGE amount of time that young people have put into these projects- and just how disappointed they will be. As young people, the situation feels very out of our control, and to see something you've worked insanely hard towards for potentially a year or more be cancelled is really difficult.
I'm crowdfunding because these amazing young people and their projects can still be celebrated - we'll just need a different way of doing it.
Youth STEM Matters is a youth scientific journal which provides young people with a platform to share their findings, ideas and innovations with the world.
We believe that young people can, through science, technology, engineering and maths, be at the forefront of progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Led by young people, for young people, we seek to make each article the best it can be, allowing young people to have the maximum possible impact in solving some of the biggest global issues.
I've set up this crowdfunder to make sure as many young people as possible are able to access the opportunity of getting their science projects published and celebrated in Youth STEM Matters. If the target of £2030 is reached, 100 young people will be able to submit their work free of charge. To each of those young people, it could mean the world...And it will literally allow the world to see their amazing STEM projects! 🌍
I know this is a really difficult time for many, and I'm so grateful to anyone who can help - whether through a donation, a share on social media or by telling a young person you know about the opportunities that are open to them. Thank you.
