Story
Mevagissey is a beautiful fishing port in Cornwall with a vibrant and active community. Whilst Mevagissey hosts a successful and growing fishing fleet its historic beauty attracts many visitors from home and abroad each year.
Cornwall struggles economically as a county in the UK and public funding has been withdrawn from many community services. There are many issues we would like to tackle but to start with we would like to improve public toilet provision as services have been closed down by the County Council.
Clean, accessible toilets open for everyone to use are good for our visitors and so good for our local economy and community too. We aim to work together as a community to reopen these facilities and to turn them into flagship loos!
To do this we need funding for renovation, water rates, maintenance and cleaning etc. If you love our village please support our local community to improve our facilities.

8 years agoThank you all very much for all your kind donations. We have raised over £5,000 all together and the money we have raised from this page will support the other fundraising we have been doing. The toilets have been heavily used as always this year and are a much needed facility here. Many thanks to the Mevagissey Parish Council and the cleaning contractors for their hard work and of course everyone who has volunteered as part of this initiative.

8 years agoThank you so much to everyone who has donated so far, we are also collecting donations from businesses in the village and am pleased to report that we have raised altogether almost £5000 so we are on our way to half of our target. Mevagissey is extremely grateful for your support, thank you.
