Story

We are a normal family in Glasgow who are facing the biggest legal fight of our lives in save my children being forced by laws to be given unsupervised access to their father 100% of the time, who was abusive towards myself and the children and documented to the police.

During Divorce proceedings I presented information to the Courts multiple times on why the children did not want to be unsupervised with their Father, and this was ignored. When I refused to comply with a Court order that gave him unsupervised access I was threatened with being arrested and put into prison.

This did in fact happen when I refused to give my children over, and I was detained and processed for jail immediately whilst attending a Court session - only be released when they found my children with "trusted adults" supervising them and threatening them with prison/arrests if they failed to give over the children immediately to him. This legal team are still pushing for myself to serve 3 months minimum in Jail as a result of not complying with the unsupervised court order.

I believe I am being discriminated against in the legal system due to lack of legal representation in our particular Family Court during some of the proceedings, where the opposition legal team used it as an opportunity to submit false claims and accusations against me in order to have their version of the truth listened to by the Courts. This even includes attacks on my character due to my religious views.

The Court approved for myself to have all contact rights to my children removed with contact centre only access supervised (no frequency or duration given in the Court order so not possible to action in it's current version) and no contact to be made via text messages/phone calls/video calls. I was also told I could not go near their home with him, their school or anywhere the children might be.

This is my current situation where a parent is actively being alienated by a Court system for saying "no" to unsupervised contact as default with good reasons for asking for consideration.

The children's voices are not being listened to in the Courts where they are able to voice they do not wish unsupervised access to him (at the moment) and wish contact centre only access. This type of court order continues to be allowed, behind closed doors, and I will use any funds donated to fund a legal team to help in my own case and then be used as an example of how to change this for families now and in the future in the UK.

Any unspent money donated will be used to start a Not-for-Profit called TOGETHER HOPE International which will aim to provide legal resources, information and support for anyone who has faced similar abuse being continued using the Family Legal Courts in Scotland/UK.

We stand with the #MeTooAbuseInCourts for stories of abuse being continued and allowed to happen to children and adults involved.
