Update 21/05/24
The family are devastated to advise that Mercy lost her battle with the aggressive brain tumour on Sunday 19/5/24, passing away peacefully in her sleep in the arms of her parents and with her beloved Bichon puppies, Teddy and Coco Junior.
We are so grateful for the support shown since she was diagnosed with a DIPG brain tumour and going forward we will be setting up “ Mercy’s Mighty Foundation” which will aim to help and support other families who get the life changing news that their child has a brain tumour.
This Just giving account will close shortly but “Mercy’s Mighty Foundation” will continue the fight for other families and their children.
Until we apply and are awarded charity status for the foundation a dedicated just giving account for it has been set up as an interim measure and will allow people to donate -

Mercys Story -
We are looking to raise £150,000 to fund clinical trials abroad, finance care/ equipment and to give an extremely brave 5 year old girl who is fighting an aggressive DIPG paediatric brain tumour, which presently has no cure, the best life possible with her parents.
Mercy Cuthbertson is an adorable, loving and highly sociable little girl from North Tyneside who started experiencing issues with her balance and vision.
Following these symptoms developing, MRI Scans and medical investigations were conducted and she was diagnosed with a DIPG which is an aggresive brain tumour.
This is a devastating paediatric disease with a universally bleak prognosis and for which there is currently no cure and extremely limited treatment options on the NHS.
In these heartbreaking circumstances we are all rallying around and supporting Mercy to ensure she has access to the leading medical treatments in the UK and abroad, with the overall aim of giving her the best possible chance of fighting this horrific disease.
Since diagnosis we have been grateful for every single day, Mercy has had 3 x brain surgery operations, 28 radiotherapy sessions, intense physio and numerous hospital admissions and has never complained once.
The donations generated from this fundraising will go towards financing vital life prolonging medications, clinical trials abroad, equipment, specialised care, and give Mercy the best life possible, spending precious time with her parents who are off work caring for her 24/7.
Donations will also be made to Abbies Army and The Brain Tumour Charity
Please support Mercy's family at this horrendous time against what is simply every parent's worst nightmare.
Mercy x
