Story

Molly is my niece and my sister Adele's only child.

She was born in 2009, a little early and tiny but healthy and beautiful. In her early years Molly hit all her milestones and life was normal. Not long after Molly turned 5 years old, she started to change. First of all school raised concerns about her coordination and some learning problems.

Fast forward...the last 4 years we have had a diagnosis of autism and a complex epilepsy syndrome, things have gradually got a lot worse and rapidly. Molly is now 10 years old and has the mental age of a 3 year old. She has lost the ability to communicate effectively, has multiple seizures daily and requires constant support and supervision from her mummy.

On 14th May 2019 following more tests, we were devastated to learn that Molly has not got autism, she has got a rare and fatal neurological condition...Battens Disease.

Molly's greatest love is her cousins (pictured below), Gabrielle, Joseph and Tom, also animals and like most little girls...Disney princesses! Unfortunately time is not on Molly's side and her condition has already started affect her sight. Eventually Molly will become blind, bedridden, unable to communicate, tube fed and requiring 24 hour care. Battens Disease is so cruel and the strain Molly has CLN1 currently has no cure or treatment.

I am trying to raise enough money to send Molly, Adele and her cousins on a once in a lifetime super family holiday to Euro Disney as soon as possible, before Molly becomes totally blind and unable to walk. We want to be able to tick off as many things on Molly's bucket list whilst she is still able and aware.

Any funds raised that don't get swallowed up on the Disney trip will go towards improving Molly's garden so that it is suitable for her wheelchair and she can enjoy being outdoors.

Any donations will help us to 'make memories for Molly'.
