India has one of the highest proportion of some of the poorest people in the world. The current COVID emergency situation has meant that India has broken the world record for the hghest number of COVID deaths in any one day, well over 300,000 deaths in a single day. Many 1000s of people are left without access to urgent medical care and equipment due to the lack of resources available.
