I've raised £10000 to Help pay medical bills after a serious injury in Thailand

In mid-May I suffered a life altering injury which left me in a broken state mentally and physically. After falling from a height of approximately 4/5 metres I suffered severe trauma to my back and heels. I was rushed into emergency surgery I was told that I had suffered a compression fracture of the L1 vertebrae along with comminuted fractures in both heels.
I was blessed enough to have a well respected surgeon put me back together and after a long and painful recovery I am back walking and doing the things I love. Unfortunately I was never covered by my travel insurance so I was forced to raise the £37,000 bill on my own. My first fundraiser raised a huge, £20,398 and secured my release from hospital and covered my flight home. Now I am left with approximately £14,000 of medical debt. Together with my family we have raised £4000 of this through a charity boxing match and savings. This fundraiser has been set up in response to a newspaper picking up on my story. We want to warn people to check their insurance polices. Not only was I left with injuries that‘ll stay with me for life, I was also landed with huge debt. Check your policy before you fly.

I hope that by getting the story out there, someone somewhere will take a second look at their policy.
Thank you for reading and thank you to everyone who has supported me during one of life’s detours!
