Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the playground refurbishment start on 5th June 2023 - thanks for Veolia Environmental Trust (£75k), The Lodge of Dawn FreeMasons (£30k), Manning Stainton (£1k), Leeds City Council Inner North East and Inner North West Commitees (£30k). Further phases are needed to complete everything we want to do, so any donations no matter how big or small would be appreciated.

We are absolutely delighted that in partnership with Leeds City Council Parks & Countryside, the Meanwood Park Playground Appeal project has been granted £75,000 for phase 1 of the refurbishment of playground by The Veolia Environment Trust. Phase 1 includes new equipment and refurbishment of the embankment slide, a toddler play area, the play tunnel, junior swings, sensory and balance equipment, as well as bug hotels and planting to encourage biodiversity and to work with the land to address some of the mud and flooding issues.

Many thanks to Cllr Shahzad for nominating our campaign for recognition by the Lord Mayor of Leeds, along with other amazing local groups, volunteering in Moortown ward. A couple of the team went along to receive the certificate. We now have plans for phase one; the slide and tunnel areas and need £30k for this, based on the community funding, donations from some of the councillors MICE monies and other funding, we are progressing but still have a lot more to go.
