Story

Meanwood Park Playgound Appeal is working to raise funds to revamp the playground at Meanwood park, there have been a few delays due to COVID but progress is being made on the plans supported by the council.

We are trying to raise the funds through a variety of sources in order to raise the anticipated amount of c.£250,000 to fully refurbish the playground, as we have such a huge target we are setting small milestones to help us get there and as such are targeting £15,000 through Just Giving for local support.

We have 4 key funding areas on which we are focused:

1) Council funding - so far, we have secured £2,500 in donations from our ward councillors' “Members Improvements in the Community and the Environment” (MICE) scheme funding. Plus, £20,000 from council funding programmes.

2) Grants - so far we have secured £75,000 from Veolia Environmental Trust. Further grant opportunities are being pursued.

3) Business Support - seeking support - if you or your business can support, then please contact us.

4) Community fundraising - this amount highlighted above, plus other donations and sales of £250 so far for park mugs, keyrings donated by March Makes and pre-loved books, plus some small raffles.

All support, no matter how big or small will make a difference to our community.

Thanks in advance for any support you can give.
