I became Mayor of St Neots in May 2024 and was delighted to announce my chosen charities based on my love of culture, media and sport.

The closure of The Priory Centre for refurbishment over the next year means our local theatre groups have no large venue to perform in the town and so I am supporting the following groups.

Peppercorns Academy, founded in 1983 as a music school, they support students young and old to learn music, drama and dance.

St Neots Players which was originally formed in the late 1920s as a play-reading group and now perform two full plays and a Christmas show each year.

VAMPs of St Neots was formed in 1961 as the St Neots and District Operatic Society. Each Spring and Autumn, they stage a popular musical or a variety show based on a theme attracting audiences of up to 300 people each night.

Riverside Theatre has been running since the early 2000s and is a youth theatre that provides multi-disciplinary training to students aged 7-18. They stage a range if shows and musicals each year.

Pocket Productions is our newest group in the town and has been performing a variety of shows since 2017, including home-written musicals, magic shows, and adult pantomimes.

What have we raised so far?

So far your donations have raised over £5,500 through the annual St Neots Dragonboat Festival and Mayor’s Charity Golf Day, as well as the Mayor’s Teddy Bear Picnic.

What’s next?

Now I need your help through this crowdfunder. Over the next six months I will be walking, cycling and running to raise more money.

In November I will be running my first St Neots Half Marathon alongside five other councillors and officers. I shall be at Pocket Parkrun each Saturday in preparation for the 21.2km course.

In May 2025 I shall attempt a three-day cycle from St Neots to St Neot, a total of 453km. I have contacted the Parish of St Neot In Cornwall and they are keen to support me on this epic journey.
