I've raised £5000 to give to the Mayor of Harrow's Special Appeal. This year it is dedicated to two disability charities, HAD and Community Connex.

Disability support

Story

I am 77, and I have been disabled since childhood, but it does not affect my ability to walk.

On the 12th April I am walking the Brecon and Abergavenny canal, between Llanfoist and Brecon (22 miles) to raise money for the Mayor of Harrow's Special Appeal. This year, the fund is dedicated to the benefit of Harrow Association of Disabled People (HAD) and Community Connex (Formally Harrow Mencap)

Each year the Mayor of Harrow chooses local charities that they wish to support by fundraising during their Mayoral year. Sadly, in this year of “Covid”, we have had very little opportunity to organise events to raise money. I hope that my walk will give you an excellent opportunity to donate to the Mayor of Harrow's Special Appeal to support the work of these great local charities.
