Through my whole experience of cancer, I found the first two months of living in a ward the most difficult of all. As soon as I had finished treatment I knew I wanted to do something to make other patients who are in the same situation as I was in feel less isolated and lonely. The idea of personalised gift boxes was inspired by some of the gifts that were given to me during treatment by my friends and family. Because they knew me so well they were able to give me such meaningful presents - things that I really wanted. However, I realise that not everyone is lucky enough to have such generous people in their lives, or even if they do, at some points the presents and constant messages do stop coming and you can begin to feel slightly lost or forgotten. I wanted to be able to give people the feeling that someone is really thinking and caring for them through giving presents they truly want.
