I've raised £500 to help the Marama Alliance UK raise funds to carry out more community based projects for Fijian women living in the UK.

The Marama Alliance UK (MAUK) is turning four in July this year and we are hoping you can celebrate with us by either donating a £4 or coming along to one of our hikes we are having throughout the UK.
A four pound will go a long way in helping us fund our community projects. MAUK gathers, collates and disseminates useful information through our social media pages and in several in-person events. We recently won the Forces Family award of social media influencer of the year and we would like to match this strong online presence with solid physical activities. To do that requires funding, and that's where your support comes in.
MAUK is currently made up of three committee members and six trustees who strategise and plan projects for the UK Fijian community based on our Community needs survey. Larger projects we carried out, like the Meke UK and Walk by Faith, were grant funded activities while and all our smaller projects are self funded.
The feedback from these projects and events have been positive and we would love to be able to continue to reach out to more women in this way. That is why in celebrating our forth birthday we are asking you to spare a four pound.
A £4 will help buy a coffee and a bagel for one participant in our Marama Connect meeting, eight people giving £4 each can cover travelling expenses for one committee member travelling to the South to meet with communities there and fifteen people giving a £4 each can go towards proving printed materials and venue cost for a in person-workshop.
To raise these funds we will be holding four hikes around the UK. The hikes will be in Slieve Donard, Northern Ireland; Ben Nevis, Scotland; Round Howe nature trail in Catterick England and Snowdon, Wales. Each of these hikes will be lead by a Hike Lead who also serve on the MAUK committee & board.
We encourage to either join us on of our hikes as a show of support or dig deep and support us by donating on this page. Your support is invaluable and we look forward to many more years of MAUK birthday celebrations to come.
We hope you can give to our cause and help make the the women in our community. We will be equally grateful if you could join us on our hikes, and if you can do both- well you simply are a star!
So join us to celebrate our forth birthday and as this will be the first time we are doing an event in Northern Ireland, here’s an Irish toast to us:
Go maire tú an céad- May you live to be a hundred.
Vinaka vakalevu from the MAUK Team.
