We are deeply saddened to advise that our Head of Utilities, Matthew Mitchell, was tragically taken from us on Tuesday 10th December. Matthew was not only a colleague, but an integral part of our Rydal Family and will be sorely missed by everyone here at Rydal. After speaking to Customers, Suppliers, Contractors this week, it is absolutely clear that Matt made a huge impact on everyone he met and his positivity, kindness and sense of humour was infectious. We are so pleased that everyone Matt met, got to see the same wonderful man that we had the pleasure of working with.

Matt leaves behind his beautiful daughter, Aaliyah, 17 who is studying to become a Beauty Therapist. Matt had recently made the decision to move 2 hours away to Berkhamsted with Aaliyah to support her in her dreams and had been working every hour of the day to ensure that he paid off her college fees for her. In honour of Matt, we have set up a just giving page in the hope that we can help to pay off the remaining fees for Aaliyah, which will allow her to continue with her dream and support her future; something which Matt was so incredibly proud of. Matt’s family has asked for donations in lieu of flowers to the fund and something which would mean the world to Matt.

We would love to honour Matt's memory and help to raise money to go towards something that was so important to him and to help his daughter financially during this very difficult time. All the money raise will go towards Aaliyah's college fees and to help her on her way in life which is something that we know Matt would have wanted.
