I've raised £24000 to support a range of mental health charities that especially reach out and help young people, like Matthew, to talk about how they are feeling

Matthew was a kind-hearted, generous, caring and sensitive young man with a dry sense of humour and an affinity for musicals. He loved the Premier League and supported both Manchester City and Burnley Football Club. Matthew suffered from social anxiety and a hidden struggle with depression, likely intensified by the isolation we’ve all been feeling recently. In search of some inner peace, Matthew tragically lost his life on 9th September 2020 aged just 17 years. As a close family we are naturally devastated.
We are requesting donations in support of a number of mental health charities that especially reach out and help young people to talk about how they are feeling and to encourage all young people to identify at least one significant person in their lives whom they can go to when they are low or struggling.
We would also like to give some funds to Matthew’s school so that some staff can attend further mental health awareness first aid training. We will also use donations to support interested students in training to become well-being ambassadors.
We need to get a message out to all young people that talking about feelings strengthens resilience and is essential for positive mental health and well-being.
Please support us in our mission by giving generously. Thank you. Ian, Jacqui and Josh.
