Matthew Ryan Robson was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in 2015. AML is a cancer of the white blood cell. Acute Myeloid means bit progress rapidly and aggressively I. Matthew reached remission in 2016, but sadly in August 2018 Matthew's Leukemia returned, he did have chemotherapy but sadly it wasn't enough to clear it and he was not able to have a potential curative Bone Marrow Transplant. Matthew is in the Palliative phase of his life at the moment which means he can get help with pain Management, blood transfusion but he can't get any help with the actual cause of the condition which is the Leukemia. Matthew's time with us depends on the disease and if it becomes more aggressive with nature. Matthew is only 18 years of age and is faced with the fact that his life is getting cut extremely short because of cancer. Matthew's Mam was told by the doctors at The Christies Hospital in Manchester that her son will not reach the age of 21. As a parent this is the most soul destroying news you could ever hear. Any funds raised will be halved, with half of the funds going to Matthew so he is able to enjoy the time that he does have left with his family and friends, with a trip to Amsterdam with his best friend, with trips away with his family and days out with friends. Matthew has also mentioned that if he gets the go head from his doctors at The Christies Hospital then he would also like to take part in a Parachute Jump. The other half of the funds raised will be donated to The Christies Hospital in Manchester, where Matthew received his treatment and still has regular check ups and appointments. Matthew is a inspiration to so many people in our community. It is very rare that you see him with a frown on his face. Matthew is the sort of person that will do anything for anyone. He is a loving son, a caring brother and a doting uncle to his neice. So please anything you can spare will be extremely grateful. Let's give Matthew the time of his life, whilst we still can.
