Matthew's Journey to the WKU World Championships

Eight-year-old Matthew hasn't always been fascinated by martial arts. What began as a fun out of school activity quickly blossomed into a passion. His dedication paid off when he recently qualified for the WKU (World Kickboxing and Karate Union) World Championships in Rhodes, Greece—an achievement that has brought immense pride to his family and community.

Matthew's journey to this global stage has been nothing short of inspiring. From the hours at the dojo to perfecting his technique, he has demonstrated unwavering commitment and talent. His Sensei, Charlotte, describes him as a natural athlete with a rare determination rarely seen in someone so young.

However, for Matthew to compete at the WKU World Championships, there are considerable expenses involved. The costs for travel, accommodation and competition fees are beyond what his family can manage alone. Undeterred, Matthew's family has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help make his dream a reality.

The response from their community has been heartwarming. Matthew himself has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of encouragement and is more determined than ever to represent his country on the world stage.

For his part in feeling like he is contributing Matthew is going to do a series of challenges....including a 13 mile Walk, a climb of Pen-y-gent, run a mile run every day for the month of July and a distance cycle amongst other things
