I am running 5 Kilometers everyday in 2017 to raise money for HELPING THE HOMELESS in Wigan. This is towards the purchase of a van to help transport a pop up Street Kitchen to take to different parts of the Wigan borough to help as many Homeless Men and Woman as possible.

HELPING THE HOMELESS .. Are a none profit organisation who help the homeless while living on the streets.. there is a pop up Street kitchen that servers food to the Men and Women on the streets. We also provide sleeping bags and warm and clean clothes , toiletries and any other essential items they might need . At the moment Four cars are used to get the street kitchen about and set up . We are in desperate need of a van so we can manoover the street kitchen around in one go . We are looking to take our street kitchen to other parts of the Wigan Borough and a van would make this possible. We help house the homeless and support them while they are housed to help them keep their properties as it's a know fact that when a homeless person gets housed without support they will loose There property in first few months as it is a very big adjustment for them after they have been on the streets for some time . So we provide Support and help them learn how to manage and maintain a property.

We also do outreach in the week were we check on their wellbeing and make sure they are registered with all available help . We also make sure they have access to a doctor if they become unwell making appointments and taking them to and from appointments.

Helping The Homeless currently receive no funding and therefore are funded directly through the Public and Volunteers.

Donations of Food and Clothing for the Homeless are also gratefully accepted.
