Story
Hi Everyone!
Thank you for clicking.... We are currently fundraising to raise £2000 for a new custom built RGK Wheelchair for Mathew.
Mathew is a 19 year old young man who is currently studying NC Sport and fitness at college. He is passionate about sport, with his first love being football!! An easy career path you may think…. That’s where you are wrong…
Mathew has Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, both of which have meant Mathew has endured many major surgeries since birth. The most recent surgery resulted in a decrease of mobility and balance, leaving Mathew requiring the use of his wheelchair more frequently than ever before.
He has spent many years fighting battles to land himself a position within the football world and recently that has happened. Following a spell of volunteering at Spartans Connections FC, he has now been given the role of Assistant Manager to one of their teams. This is an enormous achievement which has only been reached following many physical and mental health battles over a number of years.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with wheelchairs, one fit doesn’t suit all. To enable Mathew to continue to build both his independence and self-confidence, as well as to practically work on a 3G surface with his team, he drastically needs to upgrade his current wheelchair. Having access to a custom-built sports chair will have an enormous impact of Mathews life. This is an upgrade which isn’t available through NHS services, hence why we are looking to you for help!
To learn more about the type of wheelchair Mathew needs and why it is vital to access the correct make, have a browse on www.rgklife.com
Every penny counts and any support is much appreciated by Mathew and his family…
Thank you
xxx

7 years agoThanks to all you wonderful people we are now only £700 away from the amount Mathew requires to purchase his new sports wheelchair. Providing him with the opportunity to build a career in sport, which with his current wheelchair is not easily accessible and providing a huge barrier both physically and mentally. Sharing the link would be great, donating is amazing.... Both would be awesome! Thanks again to everyone who has helped out already. You are amazing xxxx
